The company was sourcing furniture in Transcarpathia around the time Ukraine became independent, and contemporary accounts describe IKEA working with woodworking factories in the region from 1992. One historical account specifically identifies the Mukachevo furniture factory that later became ENO as the producer of furniture for IKEA.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis example dates from 1993, an extraordinary transitional period in Ukrainian history. At the same time, IKEA itself was rethinking its manufacturing network following the collapse of the Eastern Bloc.
